The center, at 2050 W. Pennway, is now partially open - theupstairs gym and some weight equipment can be used, but theswimming pool is not operational and more than 50 other items mustbe fixed before the city can take over ownership. Delays includedchanges in the original plans, land acquisition and schedulingconflicts that did not allow subcontractors to put the roof inplace before last winter. Now the city has contacted the projectbonding company in an effort to remedy the problems.
