The 17-acre site will eventually see construction of a128,000-sf store, which is scheduled to open in spring 2002, nearan existing Wal-Mart SuperCenter. It will be Sam's Club's 12thHouston-area store and the first in Fort Bend County.

The Wolff Cos., a Houston land developer, has sold the tract toWal-Mart. The parcel is part of 65 acres that Wolff had bought in1998. The First Crossing Business Park had been developed on theacreage. The 17-acre sale leaves 18 acres of the original landpurchase unsold. Wolff envisions office building and restaurantsoccupying the remaining space.
