CHARLOTTE-Seaport Development and JDH Development see a potentially thriving commercial corner at Camden Road and East Park Avenue, even though a vacant gas station needs renovation and the area requires more retail. Both items are on the joint developers’ development menu which has a budget of $1 million for the renovation and the addition of a 3,800-sf commercial building.

Fuel Pizza, a two-year-old, locally-based firm, plans to take 1,900 sf at Camden Park, the corner’s new name. Average rents are $22 per sf. Construction on the two-story building is scheduled for January. The developers and Fuel Pizza principals Jeremy Wladis and Stephen Duncombe believe the revived corner will attract future development.
