Back will provide leadership and direction for daily staffactivities including project management, contractor evaluations,departmental procedures, budgeting, scheduling and quality control.He also will be responsible for the management of all constructionactivity throughout the Embarcadero Center. As the new constructionmanager, Tardy will be responsible for all retail, tenant andcapital improvement construction at the center and other propertiesin the Bay Area.

Prior to directing construction management for SwigBurris, Backspent 12 years managing commercial and residential constructionprojects in the San Francisco and the Bay Area for Webcor Builders,where he completed his most notable projects. They include theAvalon Towers at 388 Beale St. in San Francisco, Portside II at 401Main St. and 303 Almaden in San Jose.

Tardy, who started his career with his family's localarchitecture company, comes to Boston Properties from CharlesPankow Builders Ltd./Pankow Special Projects LP, where he was aspecial projects manager. Tardy also has done stints at R.N. FieldConstruction, Metro Development, Chevron Real Estate ManagementCo., Shorenstein Co. and JMA Properties.
