Space in the building, which will be ready for business within afew months, will be leased to a company that runs the Internet,such as AT&T, Level 3 Communications or 360 Networks. Level 3is laying the fiber-optic cable to the building, which localofficials hope will spur additional high-tech development in thearea. Whichever company signs on as a tenant will have to developthe secondary fiber and power networks it requires.

There are currently four Internet hotels 200,000 sf or largerbeing built in the Boston area. TechCommons is a joint venturebetween Jonathan Rose & Co. and Rabina Realty. Rose Associatesis the building's developer and leasing agent.
