MELROSE PARK, IL-Dominick’s Inc., a subsidiary of Pleasanton, CA-based Safeway Inc. and the second-largest chain of supermarkets in the Chicago area, has sold the site of one of its stores, which will become a new campus for the Lincoln Technical Institute. Currently, the Institute maintains a campus in Norridge, IL, which will be relocated here. The Institute will occupy about 47,000 sf of the former Dominick’s building, which is on a 5.6-acre site at North Ave. and First Ave., and adjacent to the 56,000-sf Melrose Place Shopping Center.

The value of the disposition was about $3.7 million. The remaining 40,500 sf in the building is up for lease, with NAI Hiffman, who negotiated the disposition, as the leasing agent.
