Manchester Resorts wants to build a 1,200-room, high-rise hotelat the site of the former Campbell Industries shipyard. Anotherdeveloper hopes to build Fifth Avenue Landing, a 250-room hotel atEmbarcadero Marina Park South.

The San Diego Unified Port District is sponsoring the workshopsto offer the public a chance to review preliminary environmentaldocuments, which are part of the South Embarcadero redevelopmentproject and includes proposed expansions of the Hyatt Regency SanDiego and San Diego Seaport Village.

The workshops are scheduled today from 3-5 p.m. and 6:30-8:30p.m. at the Embarcadero Planning Center, 585 Harbor Ln., near thesouthwest corner of Harbor Drive and Pacific Highway.
