Western Properties Proposes 117,000-SF Mixed-Use Project

WALNUT CREEK, CA-The mixed-use project would be called Olympic Place and be located on the block bordered by Mt. Diablo Boulevard, California Boulevard, Olympic Boulevard and Locust Street. The project requires only Design Review Commission approval.

WALNUT CREEK, CA-Western Properties has proposed a 117,000-sf commercial project that would include a 14-screen cinema with 2,900 seats, ground-level retail shops, a restaurant, office space and a 600-plus space parking garage.

The mixed-use project would be called Olympic Place and be located on the block bordered by Mt. Diablo Boulevard, California Boulevard, Olympic Boulevard and Locust Street. The development company could not be reached for comment and there was no information on when the company may decide to break ground once it receives complete approval.

The City Council has already approved the land uses for the block in its 1996 specific plan for the site. The project only requires the Design Review Commission approval.Next up, the commission will discuss environmental issues related to the project and take public testimony on all aspects of the proposed plans.
