A resident of Irvine, Mullin has been a member of SIOR for 12years and served as 1997 president of SIOR's Orange County &Inland Empire chapter. He also is a SIOR instructor.

In this position, Mullin will be responsible for overseeingthree committees: the Public Relations and Advertising Committee,Technology Committee and Research and Publications Committee. "Iwill oversee their operations," Mullin says. "I will be theiradvocate to the board of directors and will act as their point ofcontact between all people in those three committees to ensurethere is no duplication of effort and they're within their budgetsand areas of responsibility. Whatever they do must fit in with thestrategic plan of the organization."

SIOR's membership is 65% industrial brokers and 35% brokersinvolved in office leasing and sales. What he particularly likesabout the organization is that it provides an opportunity forcareer-minded brokers to have an impact on bettering their industryand provides a forum for members of the industry to learn how to bemore effective brokers. "You benefit a great deal in learning howthe business is practiced in different markets around the country,"he says. "If you're not a part of this organization it is unlikelythat you know much about how people have dealt with changes in theeconomy until it reaches you."
