MVP is consolidating offices in Chicago to trim costs, but itwill continue to sell sporting goods, apparel and outdoor gear fromits website. There are 20 employees in the MVP.com Austin officeand 39 employees at its Boulder location.
The Austin office had opened in 1995 as International GolfOutlet Inc., or igogolf.com. It had been founded by UT grad andgolfer David Schofman. In 1998, SportsLine, the online sportsoperation of CBS, had purchased igogolf.com. Earlier this year,MVP.com had acquired CBS SportsLine earlier this year for $220million. MVO.com is chaired by John Elway and counts among itsadvisory board members Michael Jordan and Wayne Gretzky.
