The $2.2 million project calls for the renovation of the100-year old Day Building and the renovation and rebuilding of acity block, White Way, west off Main Street. The two-story,12,200-sf Day Building will be converted into three loft units andcommercial space at street level.

Phase II of the project includes a revitalization plan for WhiteWay's seven buildings. Four of the structures will be renovated andthree will be razed. In their place, a two-storyresidential/commercial building will go up with a design in keepingwith the surrounding architecture. The projects are expected to becompleted by the end of 2001.

Metro area developers Brad Pager Developments Inc. and CenterPoint Properties Inc. are doing the project. The Pager company iscurrently renovating The Buggyworks in East Point across the MARTAand CSX rail lines from the Day Building.
