HICKORY, NC-Spotting an office development niche on Lenoir-Rhyne Boulevard, locally-based Hickory Metro Partners Inc. is clearing a four-acre site to build Ashland Park, a $7-million, five-building, 82,000-sf complex that will rent for $14 per sf to $16 per sf.

Construction of the first 14,500-sf building is scheduled to begin in February. The site is just off Interstate 40 and about 50 miles northwest of Downtown Charlotte. Metro Properties, a group of local investors headed by Steven Boyd, is based at the site. The historic Moser home, which houses Boyd’s office, will be moved as part of the project and will be used for offices.
