When completed, the complex will house the company's automotiveand industrial electronics group, telematics communications group,commercial, government and industrial solutions sector andtransportation systems group. It's being built at 12 Mile andHalstead in Farmington Hills, near the I-696 intersection. Thecompany, a maker of advanced electronic products and systems, isbased in Northbrook, IL. Locally, the firm serves mostly automakersand suppliers in the Motor City.

"Detroit is a major market and key to our long-term strategicgrowth in the automotive market," says Joe Guglielmi, president ofMotorola Integrated Electronic Systems. "The new facility willenhance our relationship with original equipment manufacturers andall tiers of automotive suppliers." The building will accommodate500 employees at the 23-acre site. The build-to-suit facility isbeing developed by Bloomfield Hills-based Kojaian Cos. Thearchitect is design firm Minoru Yamasaki Associates.
