Two New Leases Total 50,000 SF for High-Tech Firms

BLOOMFIELD, NJ-M. Alfieri Co., a 50-year-old commercial real estate development firm based in Metropark, NJ, has signed two high-tech tenants to leases totaling 50,000 sf at its Central Park Corporate Campus here. The property’s four buildings total some 400,000 sf of space.

In the larger lease, National Cable Communications signed on for 38,000 sf for a 10-year term. Jointly owned by AT&T Media Services, Comcast Cable, Cox Comunications, Katz Media Group and Time Warner Cable, the cable service provider will relocate more than 100 employees from offices in New York and Boston. The location at 400 Broadacres Dr. will serve as the company’s primary data center.

In the second transaction, Nextel of New York took 12,000 sf for five years at 400 Broadacres. The all-digital wireless service provider’s customers include a number of major corporate and individual customers in North Jersey, and the move to the new location is a consolidation of staff from Piscataway and other New Jersey locations. The company expects to move 50 associates into the new space.
