Mix Inc., a division of Hallmark Cards Inc., plans to move intotheadministrators former office space. Mix operates Ebizmix, anonlinebusiness to business service to individual specialtyretailers.Hallmark's internet division, Hallmark.com, is alreadyhoused in UnionStation. Hallmark's corporate headquarters is lessthan a quarter mileaway, on the opposite end of Crown Center.

"We are always evaluating ways to being more revenue intoUnionStation," says Laura Davis, public relations coordinator.UnionStation managers had intended to ask the Missouri Finance Boardfor$500,000 in tax credits to help pay for the officerenovations.Officials were looking to raise a million dollars inprivatedonations to help pay for the work. It is estimated thattherenovation will cost $1.3 million. Hallmark signed a lease for29,000square feet at a cost of $600,000 per year.

The Missouri Development Finance Board did not consider the taxcreditrequest, but construction is continuing anyway. The cost fortherenovation will likely be put into a long-term master plan thatwill besubmitted next year. Union Station officials are alsoconsidering askingfor tax credits for other projects, includingrenovating other nearbybuildings and constructing a child carefacility within the station.
