The park will occupy 67 acres along U.S. 521, abutting the NorthCarolina-South Carolina border 90 miles south of DowntownCharlotte. The site is about 2 1/2 miles south of BallantyneCountry Club in the fast-growing Indian Land section. The park'sfirst 120 jobs could be available by September, according to apublished report.

Enticements such as proximity to Charlotte, Charlotte/DouglasInternational Airport and Ballantyne were major considerations thatfactored into the deal, according to Hal Stone of the SouthCarolina Department of Commerce. The county has promised to lockthe current millage rate for the office park, exempting it from anyfuture increases for 20 years.
