Atlantic Realty Begins $3.5-Mil Renovation of Bethesda Corner Retail Center

TYSONS CORNER, VA-Bethesda Corner Specialty Retail Center is getting a makeover. A $3.5-million renovation of the center at the corner of Wisconsin and Woodmont Avenues is underway, according to Atlantic Realty Companies officials. TUCON Construction LLC of Dulles, VA is the general contractor for the project due to be complete in March 2001.

Maurice Villency, an upscale furniture retailer based in New York City, will anchor Bethesda Corner along with Parvizian Masterpieces. Villency’s 20,263-sf store, its first outside the New York City metropolitan area, is scheduled to open in May 2001. Parvizian, specializing in Oriental rugs, is already located at the center and will remain open during construction.

When completed, the 60,000-sf retail center will be devoted exclusively to upscale home furnishings, design, and accessories. The renovation will yield a new façade, storefronts and canopies.
