PALO ALTO, CA-PlaneShark, the online air transportation publication has added a real estate section to its website. The new category leverages PlaneShark’s readership of pilots, airline executives, and flight enthusiasts to bring real estate professionals a new medium for marketing aviation land and buildings.

PlaneShark features airline on-time performance reports, an aviation industry marketplace, and real passengers’ opinions on airlines worldwide as well as the new section. The new section has two parts: one for airports and airparks, and one for hangars. Both parts include photographs and is available free of charge on the Internet.

Ken Marshall, Editor in Chief tells that in total, PlaneShark has several hundred classified ads sortable by approximately 130 categories. “Reaching the market for aviation real estate used to be as hard as catching an on-time United flight,” says Marshall. “You had to find aviators at the exact moment that they were hunting for an airpark facility or hanger space. Now, PlaneShark offers agents nonstop service to pilots and airline executives seeking such services.”

Marshall says that ads have been posted for properties in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Mississippi, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Southern California, Texas, and Wisconsin. He also added that although the company is based near San Francisco, PlaneShark’s reach is national.

“As of yet there are not to be any postings from the San Francisco or Bay Area at the moment,” says Marshall, “but we are actively seeking to include them.”

PlaneShark is owned by Eureka Media, Inc., a privately held corporation based in Palo Alto, California. Eureka Media also publishes HotelShark, which is available on the Internet.

Marshall says PlaneShark earns revenue by charging for ads, but would not disclose other details. “The company is a privately held,” says Marshall, “Eureka Media keeps data on its publications’ circulation and finances internal.”
