Fisher Pavilion will be located in the heart of Seattle Centerand feature a rooftop plaza, spacious performing space, two acresof gardens and grass, and a prominent clock tower.
The project is the result of a successful public/privatepartnership that began in 1999 when voters approved a levy thatprovided $7 million. The $3 million gift by Fisher Communicationshelps round out the financing.
Construction begins in September 2001. A grand opening in timefor the annual Bumbershoot festival in August 2002. Fisher pavilionwill replace the Flag Pavilion, built 39 years ago as a temporary,six-month installment for the1962 World's Fair.
