The Newseum is an interactive museum of news. The move will putthe facility in the middle of the tourist district, across thestreet from the National Gallery of Art and the National Mall.

"CarrAmerica was selected after a national search. Their provenrecord in DC and their collegial style will complement the workthat has already begun with our architects and our staff," saysFreedom Forum chairman and CEO Charles L. Overby. "We are alreadywell under way developing content and design options and havenearly 75 people on staff at the Freedom Forum and Newseum hard atwork on the project."

The Department of Employment Services recently announced plansto move from the existing building at the site. DC Mayor AnthonyWilliams is slated to present Overby with the keys to the buildingin a ceremony on Thursday. The event will be held at the CanadianEmbassy, the Newseum's future next-door neighbor.
