The Minneapolis-based consumer electronics, personal computers,entertainment software and appliances retailer has selected thecity for its 46th location in Texas. The Pasadena store will openin the fall, employing about 150 full-and part-time workers.

This year, Best Buy has set an expansion initiative into motionthat will put 60 more US locations into its portfolio. Best Buycurrently has more than 1,800 retail stores in the US, Puerto Ricoand the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Pat Matre, Best Buy's vice president of real estate, says thePasadena store will provide the area with "affordable, high-techconsumer electronics and entertainment products in a shoppingatmosphere that is easy to navigate and fun." The end goal, saysthe company vice president, will show local consumers "howtechnology can improve their lives."
