Last year, Gillette acquired 10 additional acres right near itscomplex in the Fort Point Channel area where it planned to developa huge office and technology complex. The problem is the cityplanned on developing park land that would cut across the Gilletteland and extend all the way to the Fort Point Channel. This parkland would connect the proposed new convention center here to thechannel and to the planned Harbor Walk.

Gillette did not return calls by press time, but reportedly thecompany is concerned about a park cutting through its complex,which plans to house 2,500 employees. The company also objects tothe development of the park land on what is prime space on theirproperty.

Gillette is currently in negotiations with the BRA.
