The MEDC provided the funding to boost economic development inthe city's Downtown area.
The city has been on the brink of bankruptcy, having troublepaying its bills and salaries for workers. An emergency financialmanager, Louis Schimmel, recently said efforts are continuing tobring Hamtramck out of deficit.
"Hamtramck is making a great comeback, and it's because thestate, county and city government are working together," says WayneCounty Executive Edward McNamara.
