MIAMI-Brightstar Corp. has signed a five-year lease for 118,897 square feet of office and industrial space at Beacon Centre, 2010 NW 84th Ave. According to sales vice president Dave Peterson, the rental rate averages $7 per sf. That would make the value of the lease about $4 million.

Peterson tells GlobeSt.com the move from Brightstar’s 42,000-sf current location at 8323 NW 12th St. was necessitated by the company’s growth. The new facility will house Brightstar’s corporate headquarters as well as product development, manufacturing, storage and distribution operations.

Brightstar Corp., a distributor and provider of wireless devices and accessories, has subsidiaries in Argentina, Bolivia, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico and Uruguay. It will soon add subsidiaries in Guatemala and El Salvador, Peterson says.
