Tribe Breaks Ground on Gambling Casino

ROCHESTER, WA-The Lucky Eagle Casino is about to get larger.The Chehalis tribe broke ground this week on a 15,000-sf addition to the existing facility, which opened its doors in 1995.

The renovation will feature one of the largest “Las Vegas-style” buffet restaurants in the Northwest. The buffet will seat 300 diners, and will include several “action stations” where food will be prepared to order. In addition, there will be an intimate, upscale dining.

The renovation new construction should better serve the casino’s banquet and entertainmentfacilities as well. Six new banquet/party rooms are included in the plan, with a total capacity of 800 guests. A 150-seat “Cabaret Lounge” will feature live entertainment, including concerts, comedy shows and live professional boxing.

“The Chehalis Tribes have long been committed to providing the best entertainment venue in the area,” says Lucky Eagle General Manager John Setterstrom. “We’re excited to now offer customers the additional space and dining options they have requested over the years.”

The project is expected to have minimal impact on existing operations of the casino and will be phased in over the next six months. The Bingo hall will close temporarily during one phase, although it’s not know at this time for how long, or when that will be, Setterstrom says.

The decision to expand was made to accommodate current customer levels and does not change the Chehalis Tribes ultimate goal of securing a new location adjacent to Interstate 5. The Lucky Eagle Casino is located just off Highway 12 in Rochester, WA.

The Lucky Eagle Casino is currently one of the largest employers in the South Puget Sound area. Once the new addition is complete, more than 500 people will work at the casino.
