Beyond that, the new facility also heralds the start of awaterfront redevelopment plan being implemented by Advance. Theproject, expected to cost upwards of $100 million, will include400,000 sf of office and retail space, a twin to the parking garagecurrently under way, and 200 multifamily residential units. TheHillier Group, Princeton, is doing the planning for theproject.

"This new parking garage is the first step in realizing ourplans to enhance existing development and further create a sense ofplace on the Trenton waterfront," according to Dean O. Lundahl, SVPand regional manager for Advance. The company currently owns threebuilding on the waterfront, totaling 230,000 sf.

"This structure is part of the infrastructure that willencourage future economic growth in the area," concludes Robert D.Prunetti, chief executive for the Mercer County government.
