The shopping center is part of a 127-acre master planned,mixed-use development that will eventually add office, assistedliving, nursing home and active adult residential uses to the mix(see earlier stories). Lance Blake of Rotwein & BlakeAssociated Architects and Julius Szalay of Menlo Engineering arethe lead designers for the development.
The new Barnes & Noble store is actually a relocation of anexisting outlet, which was situated directly across Route 35 in acompeting shopping complex in this Monmouth County community. Likemany of the newer and larger of the 1,000 Barnes & Noble and B.Dalton units operated by the company around the country, theHolmdel store includes a café.
