Jarvis To Open Two New Hotels At Glasgow Airport

EDINBURGH-Jarvis Hotels has signed a contract for two operating leases to run new hotels at Glasgow Airport on behalf of Tonstate Glasgow Airport Limited, a part of the Tonstate Group.

These are the first contracts won by its hospitality management services division, Jarvis Management Services, a new division established earlier this year to operate hotels on behalf of asset owners and investors. JMS also currently manages nine properties owned by Norwich Union.

The Glasgow Airport Ramada will fly Marriott International’s Ramada flag with 108 bedrooms, 10 summit conference and meeting rooms and an Italian concept restaurant. The design and furnishing will be contemporary throughout with up-to-the minute technology, and the new hotel will complement the 91-room Ramada Jarvis in Glasgow’s City Centre. The second 98-room hotel will be aimed at the budget market and will also operate under a well-known international brand.

Both new hotels will open in the first half of 2002. They are located within walking distance of the airport terminals and offer extensive parking facilities and a courtesy bus service. They bring the total number of hotels operated by Jarvis in Scotland to 13, with a total of 1,239 rooms.

Jarvis operates Ramada-branded hotels in Aberdeen, Ayr, three in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Gourock, Inverness, Livingston and Perth, and the Jarvis Hotel in Aberdeen.
