Senior Care Developer Feted for New Facility

SAN DIEGO-A locally based developer of senior housing has received one of the industry’s highest awards for health-care practices. Senior Resource Group LLC received the award from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations award for St. Aidan’s Place, a 48-unit licensed residential care community for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

St. Aidan’s Place, located in northeast Portland, is one of only 12 care communities in the world to receive the three-year accreditation. Senior Resource Group is the managing operator of the community. “A community accredited by the (commission) meets rigorous standards,” the JCAHO said in awarding accreditation.

Senior Resource Group acquired St. Aidan’s Place in December 2000 and “immediately began to implement the quality-of-care procedures SRG has developed through years of research in the fields of gerontology, dementia and Alzheimer’s care, hospitality, architecture, and interior design,” says Michael Grust, president of Senior Resource Group.

Senior Resource Group is a 13-year-old company that develops and operates independent living, assisted living and dementia care communities in California, Oregon, Arizona and Nebraska. The company’s corporate headquarters is located at 4660 La Jolla Village Drive in San Diego.
