The four-story, 117-room hotel will be the seventh in the Austinarea built and operated by Spartanburg, SC-based ExtendedStayAmerica Inc. Four are under the Extended Stay banner, two areunder Crossland and one is Studio Plus location.

Although the company deferred construction of some projectsafter the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, the Austin hotel was one of38 under construction on Sept. 30, when work continued. ExtendedStayAmerica expects to have opened eight hotels in the fourthquarter, which would give it 29 new hotels for 2001. The remaining30 sites under construction should be completed by the end of thethird quarter of 2002.

The new Austin hotel puts it in easy reach of Southwest Parkwayand Motorola's Oak Hill campus. Nearby retail centers are anchoredby Target, Wal-mart and Home Depot.
