I-55 Suburb Sees Industrial Activity

WOODRIDGE, IL-Despite a softening I-55 Corridor submarket, ground is broken on one project in this southwest suburb of Chicago while a 44,122-sf lease is signed at another complex. While ground has been broken on the 19-acre Maple Point Business Park – Woodridge at 103rd Street and Internationale Parkway, Birmingham, AL-based Motion Industries has signed a new lease at 10440 Beaudin Blvd. in Internationale Centre.

The world’s largest distributor of mechanical, electrical and fluid power transmission equipment is relocating from Chicago. HSA Commercial executive vice president/managing director Tim Thompson, SIOR, represented Motion Industries while Colliers Bennett & Kahnweiler Inc.’s Brent DeNoble and Vern Schultz represented ownership of the 167,522-sf building.

Meanwhile, Phase I of Maple Point Business Park – Woodridge will include two buildings of 81,420 sf and 84,960 sf. The second phase could include an office or light industrial building as large as 110,000 sf.
