Under the contract terms, the VA will lease the building fromHamstra, which is marking its first Arizona project with thedevelopment. The project site is an in-fill location at theintersection of Central Avenue and Osborn Road, where the city isplanning to install a traffic signal for ingress and egress anddesignating it as a planned stop for the new light rail transitsystem. Construction on the office building begins in July2002.

The project will feature concrete panel walls, steel floorstructure, high performance glass, a signature entry feature andcovered parking. "The excitement for this project lies in thechallenge of the cost effective design while integrating thedowntown urban environment," says Jeffrey Maas, Patrick Hayes'director of architecture.
