Insignia Thalhimer Buys Garman Biesecker Commercial

RICHMOND, VA-Insignia Thalhimer is buying Garman Biesecker Commercial Inc. of Chesapeake, VA. The deal will close before the year ends.

Garman Biesecker is a full-service commercial real estate firm that represents properties for sale or lease valued at more than $23 million. The company also manages about 250,000 sf of commercial industrial space. In 2000, Garman Biesecker completed more than 140 sales, consulting and lease transactions representing more than $21 million in transactional volume, according to the company. Thalhimer’s transactional volume in 2000 was more than $300 million in more than 1,000 sale and lease transactions.

Richmond-based Insignia Thalhimer has 37 commercial sales and leasing associates in Richmond and 11 in a Hampton Road office. Thalhimer could not be reached for comment.

Thalhimer is retaining some of Garman Biesecker’s employees. Emily Cloud will continue as a property manager and Christine DeSimone, Biesecker’s former marketing director, will be a real estate associate.
