Trying to buy out property owners on K Street was a majorhardship for the development company, who eventually threw in thetowel on both plans. Apparently, the property owners were demandingtoo much money.

Westfield has decided to find a place in the existing plaza thatwill supply Century with enough screens to compete with suburbanmega-theaters.

At a recent city council meeting, K Street was named as one ofthe largest pieces of unfinished business left in the downtownredevelopment area, with millions of dollars spent on it over thelast few years.
