The $10-million, 19,500-seat is the center of controversy,especially among residents of nearby Bloomington, MN, who fear theamphitheater will generate unwanted noise and air pollution andtraffic congestion. The Metropolitan Significance Review Committeemet late last week to render findings, conclusions andrecommendations to the fullMetropolitan Council on the metropolitansignificance of the proposed Black Dog Amphitheater inBurnsville.

The committee wants its lawyer to review a list of conditionswith the amphitheater's developers before it makes anyrecommendations.

The review committee held a formal public hearing last month tohelp determine whether the proposed amphitheater could have a"substantial adverse physical effect on existing or proposed landuse or development" in the city of Bloomington with respectto noisepollution.
