Souper Salad, Sears Lease Space in Houston's Western Tier

KATY, TX-Souper Salad Inc. has leased 4,353 sf at Price Plaza at the Katy Freeway and South Fry Road in Katy. The shopping center in the far west submarket was built in 2000.

Dean Lane and Culver Stedman, both of Boyd Page in Houston, represented the building owner, Price/Fry LP. David Stukalin of Dallas-based Weitzman Group’s Houston team negotiated for the tenant.

The San Antonio-based restaurant Souper Salad chain operates more than 50 Texas locations, including 11 in Houston, one in Humble and one in Sugar Land. In total, the company has in excess of 128 stores in 16 states.

In an unrelated retail transaction, Sears Roebuck & Co. has signed for 2,800 sf at Fairbanks Plaza Shopping Center in northwest Houston. Dean Lane and Charlie Christ, both of Boyd Page, represented Sears.

According to a report published by Revac Inc. and CDI-Source Net, LLC, there are four shopping centers under construction in West Houston, representing 725,000 sf that will come on line soon.
