Centex Plans Spring Groundbreaking on Second Townhome Project

ORLANDO-The 21-acre, 216-unit Villas at Waterford Lakes will offer 1,300 sf to 1,900 sf of living area for $110,000 to $130,000. Pre-sales begin in April. Models at the Dallas-based builder's 70-unit Park Maitland Villas are scheduled for completion in January.

ORLANDO-Racing to fill demand, Dallas-based Centex Homes’ Orlando division plans to break ground in spring 2002 on Villas at Waterford Lakes, a 21-acre, 216-unit townhome venture in east Orange County. The units are priced from $110,000 to $130,000 for 1,300 sf to 1,900 sf of living area.

Models at the Centex’s first townhome venture, the 70-unit Park Maitland Villas, are scheduled for completion in January. The company reports brisk sales but didn’t disclose dollar volume to date in a prepared statement.

Centex has logged $185 million in 1,100 aggregate sales in the metro Orlando area since 1990 on conventional single-family shelter projects.
