The opening marks the first in the immediate market for ExtendedStay America, but it's the company's 11th property in New Jerseyand its 426th nationally. The Spartanburg, SC-based company wasfounded in 1995 by George D. Johnson, Jr., who is the CEO, andformer Blockbuster honcho Wayne Huizenga, who is the company'schairman.
"The extended-stay lodging market is the fastest growing segmentof the hotel industry," Johnson asserts. "It's catching theinterest of business people, people who are relocating, and thosewith extended work assignments."
