Marriott's remodeled Renaissance Hollywood Hotel stands atHighland Avenue, near the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard. Foryears, it was a Holiday Inn that was visited by the likes of GloriaSwanson before it became what one previous manager of the propertysaid were "certain other women who work mostly in theevenings."

Maryland-based Marriott International is confident that theremodeled lodging complex will attract a steady stream ofbusinesspeople looking for two or more overnight stays. The22-story hotel is owned by TrizecHahn Corp., the Toronto-based realestate giant that also owns the adjacent Hollywood & Highlandmixed-use complex.

The Hollywood & Highland development opened last month. Foottraffic at the project has exceeded expectations, a TrizecHahnofficial says, with many of the stores in the new developmentreporting long lines at their check-out counters.
