Located at the corner of Ridgetop Circle and Nokes Boulevard,Loudoun Tech Center came into being at the beginning of the area'stechnology boom in the late 1980's. Radnor/Buchanan developed the280-acre office complex, which offers a total of more than 3.5million sf of space. In a statement on the move, SER CEO Carl E.Mergerle says CER and its staff "are pleased to be a part of one ofNorthern Virginia's fastest growing technology centers." He adds,"as a company, we are continuing to grow by offering the mostadvanced knowledge management software on the market and thedecision to move to the Dullest Technology Corridor supports ourlong-term growth strategies." The company is an American subsidiaryof Neustadt/Wied, Germany's renowned SER Systems, A.G.

SER's Knowledge Center will serve as a demonstration area forthe company's SERbrainware(TM) software, as well as other high-endknowledge management products. The decision to relocate fromFairfax County to Loudoun County was an economics-driven choice,which the company revealed in June. Company officials expect themove to save SER millions over the next decade. Other companyoffices in the US are located in n Rochester Hills, Michigan,Norwalk, Connecticut and Charlotte, North Carolina.

Trammell Crow Company handled the transaction for both SER andproperty landlord Willowbrook Holdings. The monetary details of thedeal are not readily available.
