State Wins High Economic Development Marks

ST. PAUL, MN-Minnesota recently won a top rating on its economic development from the Corporation for Enterprise Development, a nationwide economic development organization. The rating is based on a broad-based index of the economies of the 50 states, and uses 70 criteria to measure economic development success in three mainareas: performance, business vitality and development capacity.

“It demonstrates that even in difficult economic times, states that invest in their people through education and workforce training and take a long-term view of economic diversification have the best chance of success,” says Rebecca Yanisch, commission of the Minnesota Department of trade and economic development.

Other states with top ratings include Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Washington.
