PHOENIX-Close-out retailer Big Lots has signed for its sixth location in metropolitan Phoenix. The 31,046-sf lease is a 10-year pledge, valued at nearly $1.9 million, for South Mountain Plaza, a center positioned at the northeast corner of Central Avenue and Baseline Road in Phoenix.
Jon Cowen of Phoenix’s Cowen Commercial represented Big Lots at the bargaining table. Big Lots unlocks the doors in September in the 105,000-sf center, owned by Tempe, AZ-based Lawrence & Geyser. Greg Abbott, Judi Butterworth and Amanda Meissler, all of the Phoenix office of CB Richard Ellis Inc., handled talks for the building owner.
Big Lots Inc., headquartered in Columbus, OH, has 1,654 stores in 45 states due in part to the merger of Consolidated International and Wisconsin Toy. It operates under the brands of Big lots, Pic ‘N’ Save and MacFrugal’s.
