"Maruchan has been a very valued employer and corporatecitizen," Chesterfield County Department of Economic Developmentdirector Jim Dunn tells GlobeSt.com. There are currently about 300workers at Maruchan. "They continue to add new capital ininvestment, and new jobs. They have really reached out to attract awide variety of employees, and they've helped the county attractother food manufacturer and expand our base of Japanese companiesin the area."

The new addition marks Maruchan's fourth facility expansionsince it built its first 160,000-sf structure at the industrialpark in 1989. The new building will bring the company's total spaceto nearly 600,000 sf. In regard to Maruchan's consistent growthover the last decade and resulting need for more and more space,Dunn predicts this recent addition "won't be the last.
