The state fund hopes to break ground next fall on a 267,000-sfoffice project at 55 Ninth St. Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum Inc.(HOK), a local design firm, has designed an 11-story, glass-facedbuilding, with an underground garage, which the state says willboost the area's revitalization efforts.

According to state officials, SCIF will not use bond measures ortax funds to build the project. Instead, it will use existingresources. According to the state, the $82 million project willfeature green development touches, including solar panels, thermalstorage and water reclamation systems.

The proposal is currently in the midst of an environmentalreview.
