WaMu will occupy 11,458 sf, the building's entire eighth floor.Linda Gee, leasing agent for PM Realty Group, represented theowner, California investor John Edward Anderson's DuesenbergInvestment Co. in the transaction. WaMu was represented by MatthewBittick of Grubb and Ellis. Details of the long-term lease are notbeing disclosed.

"Washington Mutual selected Topa Financial as its new businesslocation because of the building's prestigious Bishop Streetaddress, excellent parking and a complete offering of amenities andservices," Gee says.

The Topa Financial Center, formerly the Amfac Towers, waspurchased by Anderson in 2001 for $95 million. Anderson bought thecomplex from Japan-based Mitsui Fudosan Co. in 1988 for a reported$141 million.
