Local Landmark Sold to Leona's Restaurant Chain

HOMEWOOD, IL- Surma’s Restaurant, which has been serving up eats in this southern suburb for 50 years, recently sold its site, located at the intersection of 175th and Dixie Highway, to Leona’s Restaurants, a local chain of moderate-priced Italian restaurant. Surma’s sold the property to relocate to a smaller location in southwest suburban Tinley Park.

Leona’s, which currently owns 16 restaurants in Chicago and suburbs, is remodeling the 16,000-sf restaurant and banquet facility, which is situated on a two-acre site. The sale price was undisclosed but the asking rate was $850,000. The purchase is in conjunction with Leona’s continuing expansion in the Chicagoland area.
