Alan Patton joins a 326-member board, which includes 15 membersfrom 11 Houston firms. The board most often has two members perfirm, says a council spokesman. In the case of the luxurymultifamily developer, Morgan Group, its principal and CEO, MichaelMorgan, also sits on the national council.

The council is a recognized lobbyist for multi housing issues.Patton says issues being addressed right now include affordablehousing and mold remediation, both hot topics in Houston circles.The council also conducts apartment-related research, encouragesthe exchange of strategic business information and promotes thedesirability of apartment living.
