The building will be constructed out of a pre-cast concreteproduct that is finished to simulate limestone, as well asdecorated masonry block and brick. Aluminum sunshades will give thebuilding a dramatic look and actually help cut down on light andheat loads on the building, according to DeMattia officials.

A rain garden has been designed to improve local water qualitywhile creating a natural habitat that will attract birds andbutterflies, planted with native wildflowers, grasses, and shrubsthat will naturally remove pollutants from storm water runoffbefore it reaches the community storm water system, said DeMattiaofficials.

"This facility incorporates the Building of the Future modelwhich integrates the customer service experience (from thebeginning of the phone call through the dispatch of a technician)into the actual design, organizational flow and physical layout ofthe building itself. This ensures that the entire customerexperience is the primary focus of the operations teams," saidAnnmarie Patton of Comcast.The cable television and Internet firmserves more than 1.6 million customers and employs about 3,000people in Michigan.
