Clay Wells, business development manager for the Weitz Co.'sSouthwest Division, which is handling the renovations, tellsGlobeSt.com that the project will change both the look and the feelof the 25000 N. Windy Walk Dr. country club. "It was showing itsage and I think the members were ready for a touch-up," Wells says,noting the upgrades will focus on the facility's dining rooms andpro shop.

The 7,000-sf remodeling job will bring major changes to theclubhouse's Men's Grill, which will be totally revamped to relocatethe bar, remove the fireplace and upgrade the interior with newlighting fixtures, flooring, windows and doors. The Quail's Nest, aprivate dining area, and the facility's main dining room also willundergo renovation. A 2,300-sf addition to the clubhouse'ssingle-story fitness facility will include an attached two-storymasonry and concrete area with a wall of windows on the east,overlooking Troon Mountain.

"This is one of the premier and most well-known country clubsand golf courses in Arizona," notes Larry Mohr, Weitz's SouthwestDivision president. "We are proud to be associated with theproject.
