The grand opening of Kohl's department store later this weekwill mark the official re-opening of the property, which was guttedto make way for a new tenant roster. The store opening will bringto 26 the number of Kohl's stores in the Garden State, and to morethan 400 nationally.
Besides Kohl's, Eastern has signed Borders Books, Michaels Arts& Crafts, Panera Bread, Chili's restaurant, Verizon Wireless,Sherman Jewelers and Pickwick Village Hallmark to fill long-vacanttenant slots.
One holdover at the 20-acre complex is Burlington Coat Factory,whose existing space is currently being renovated. BCF has beenon-site since 1998, when it took over the anchor slot formerlyoccupied by the bankrupt Jamesway discount chain.
